When we are able to run face to face classes, our Belper class runs as follows:
Extended Music & Play Session – no need to book, just turn up!
Twistin Tots is our class for children aged 0-5. All are welcome – and we do have the full age range attending these classes. Lots of parents who have two children (a baby and a toddler for example), come regularly as it is difficult to find activities that suit both ages – but our classes do!
Classes cover a range of songs – many of which are repeated weekly to aid learning. We also run regular themed classes – including Dinosaurs, Colours, Going to School, Transport, Jungle, Desert Island and many more.
We have a number of regular ‘favourites’ (both songs and activities) that we usually do each week: Dingle Dangle Scarecrow, parachute activities, Music Man, puppets, bubbles, wiggle sticks and lots of action songs.
All of our classes have been inspected and assessed by the Children’s Activities Association as being to a very high standard and all class activities have some learning objectives – whether it is to develop listening skills, speech and language, motor skills (fine and gross motor skills), or help with socialisation and co-operation.
The Belper session is one of our extended Music & Play sessions, so we have an hour’s Twistin Tots’ music, followed by a further hour of play for children attending – with a selection of toys and ride-ons, plus the opportunity for tea/coffee and cake for parents and carers.
There is no obligation to stay for the whole time – you can leave after the first hour if you wish, and the price is the same as for our one hour sessions for over 1s.
This class is usually run by Jacqui.
NB If you are a new customer coming for the first time, your session will be charged at a cheaper rate – £2.50 for over 1s and £1 for under 1s.
There is limited parking available at this venue, but public car parks are a short walk away (2-3 minutes). Please do not park in Belper Library car park.
This is a large hall so can accommodate a large number of children and there is plenty of room for children (if mobile) to run around and let off steam. Class numbers at this venue vary from 10 – 35, depending on the weather and the time of year. Baby-change facilities available.
